Adidas Football: Ghosted
2019
Being part of the Adidas Football team was a privilege, not only the scale and impact of the work but also to be chosen alongside some incredibly talented and creative design colleagues.
My role was to support the team by injecting creativity, building on design concepts from the product such as the lightweight, semi-transparent upper and iridescent sole then executing these visual ideas into 2D assets to be used in physical retail space.
I lent on the impressive skills of Henry, who with very little technical budget or scope, created a range of assets we could build upon. We would photograph the shoe in the office with bike lights inside or using a rear-sync flash to create a sense of motion we could colourise in Photoshop. To create this sense of player movement we would scan player cutouts while dragging to create analogue effects that gave the whole project a sense of bespoke charm.
